Description

Made from the same high-quality MDF we use for our pottery forms, these 9mm (3/8") thick bats are designed to be compatible with Shimpo pottery wheels (freestanding), featuring pre-cut holes that align with the pins on the wheel head, allowing you to securely attach it for throwing clay.

Our bats are durable, moisture-resistant and great for both wheel throwing and hand building.

Choose from two diameter sizes (32cm/12.5" and 37cm/14.5") with 9mm holes at 254mm spacing. Cut slightly larger than the wheel head means you can easily grab the bat and remove from the wheel, without the need for a bat lifter.

If you don't require pin holes, you can find plain bats here.

Fin Pottery Tools pottery forms and bats are designed and made in Australia from high-quality MDF. They are machine made and hand finished, and available in a variety of shapes and sizes.

    Specifications

Bats are 9mm (3/8") thick and 32cm/12.5" and 37cm/14.5" in diameter with 9mm holes - 254mm spacing. These bats are compatible with Shimpo pottery wheels with 12" and 14" wheel heads.

Please measure your pottery wheel head and pin bolts before ordering to ensure they are compatible. If you require a bespoke bat size and/or pin holes, please email us at hello[at]finpotterytools.com.au.

    Care instructions

    • Wipe down bats after use
    • Allow bats to dry vertically (not stacked on or against each other), away from direct sunlight
    • Do not submerge bats in water — they are moisture resistant but not waterproof and can warp or swell if wet for prolonged periods of time
